Rebel Dog Coffee Co.’s newest location in Berlin is conveniently located on Mill St (Route 372) near the junction of Route 9 and Routes 5/15 (Berlin Turnpike). This location is unique in that it offers takeout services only, with a slightly more limited food menu than our other locations.
Rebel Dog Coffee Co. Berlin offers the same specialty coffee, tea, and other alternative beverages as all other Rebel Dog locations, as well as much of the same food items as our other locations, including build your own breakfast sandwiches/avocado toast, pastries, and lunch sandwiches and salads.
AVAILABLE POSITION
Shift Lead, ~40 hours/week, Saturday, Sunday, and weekday shifts required
$17.94/hour (eligible for increase after 6-12 months dependent on performance) plus tips, with paid training, free coffee/tea drinks during shifts, shift meal, 50% employee discount, and educational opportunities in the coffee shops and at the roastery
Please note: we are not currently hiring for temporary/summer positions, and are seeking applicants interested in long-term, meaningful employment with Rebel Dog.
BERLIN HOURS
- MONDAY-FRIDAY:Â 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- SATURDAY-SUNDAY:Â 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Closing shifts typically last until an hour past store closing, and opening shifts begin one hour before store open. Midday shift timing can vary.
ABOUT YOU
We would love to hear from anyone who is passionate about specialty coffee and eager to start or grow their career in the industry. Previous barista experience is great, but not necessarily required for the right candidate, as all new hires will receive barista training. Experience in a fast-paced food service environment is strongly preferred. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with excitement for coffee (and a desire to learn more about it), as well as excellent customer service, a strong work ethic, and a collaborative spirit.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor the overall performance of staff and maintains standards, guiding them in the right direction if errors are made or questions come up
- Some assistance with inventory management
- Cover shifts for call outs if/when absolutely necessary
- Report directly to the manager with any concerns or recommendations related to the store's operations, staff, customers, etc.

All staff in Berlin are trained on and responsible for all coffee counter and food preparation duties. The following are required to be executed in a safe and sanitary manner:
Customer Service & POS:Â At the point of sale, baristas are responsible for taking food and beverage orders efficiently and thoroughly, and engaging with customers in a friendly manner. Staff will be prepared to answer questions, make suggestions, and draw attention to any new, seasonal, or special offerings.
Drink Preparation:Â Baristas will be trained in and responsible for preparing all beverages offered at Rebel Dog, from brewing batch coffee to crafting specialty espresso drinks, all alternative drinks, and French presses and pour overs.
Food Preparation: Baristas/All-Rounders at this location are responsible for basic back of house/light kitchen duties, including prepping ingredients, assembling salads/sandwiches, and packaging food orders for takeout, pickup, and delivery.
Float/Support & Cleanliness:Â All staff are responsible for maintaining the order and cleanliness of the space by wiping counters/surfaces, sweeping, and monitoring garbage bins throughout their shift. Whenever not assigned to a specific station, staff may be required to assist on the espresso and manual brew bars, assist at the POS with drink and pastry fulfillment or coffee brewing, or assist with food order packaging/expo and handoff.
